Light Painting a 1930 Packard Boattail Speedster
This stunning light painted photograph of a 1930 Packard Boattail Speedster was created by Michael Anderson, owner of Michael Anderson Photography.

Joannie and Michael Anderson have owned and operated Michael Anderson Photography in Mounds View, Minnesota since 1986. They specialize in wedding photography, but also in family, kids, pets, and high school senior portraits, both on location and at their home-based studio.

Anderson's Portrait Park is their very own outdoor location at their home studio for on-location portrait creation as well.
For over 34 years, Michael and Joannie have studied photography with some of the who’s who of photography, including John Hartman, Ben Shirk, Bruce Hudson, Hanson Fong, Don Blair, Mike Colón, Denis Craft, Clay Blackmore, Denis Reggie, Angela Carson, Monte Zucker, Bambi Cantrell, Ed Pierce, Gary Fong, Eddie Tapp, Scott Kelby, and many, many others.

They have been selected for numerous awards for their wedding photography, including The Knot "Best of Weddings” for 11 of the past 13 years.

They have also received the Wedding Wire "Couples' Choice" Award in both 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017 & 2016.

Expertise has selected Anderson's as one of the "The 21 Best Wedding Photographers in Minneapolis" in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, and 2016 as well.

Now, in addition to their wedding and portrait work, Michael and Joannie have added light painting photography to their very diversely creative arsenal.

Michael and Joannie are the world's only light painting wedding photographers that light paint entire scenes at weddings. These are truly stunning, one-of-a-kind wedding photographs. Now they light paint businesses, automobiles, aircraft, and even Zamboni's!

Light painting has brought out a new creative edge in their work, and they are always looking for ways to incorporate light painting into other portrait product lines.
